T G Thyagarajan who produced Moondram Pirai, Kizhaku Vaasal, Idhayam, Parthiban Kanavu, Em Magan and Jayam Kondan is now producing a film titled Baana Kaathadi under the banner Satya Jyothi Films. This film is about the young kite fliers and their life. Adharva who is the son of actor Murali is doing the lead role. Samantha who is currently acting in Moscowin Kaveri and Pookadai Ravi is pairing with him. Prasanna is doing a significant role in this film. Karunas is the laughing stock of this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music for this film. Richard M Nathan is handling the camera while Suresh Urs is in charge of editing. Badri Venkatesh has written and directing this film. Badri Venkatesh has done his directorial course in Film and TV Institute in Chennai. He has won the National Award for directing a Tamil short film Vidilyalai Nokki. The shooting of the film commenced in Chennai and is progressing as per schedule. The shooting is to take place in Gujarat and Thailand. An important sequence of the film is to be shot in Gujarat where the International Kite Festival is being held every year with a massive crowd of 3000. This festival set is being created in Gujarat.
