Few years back actor Thyagarajan had acted in the silver jubilee hit film Malayur Mambattiyan. This film is being remade with the title Mambattiyan which has Thygarajan’s son Prashanth in the lead role. This film is directed by Thyagarajan himself. Meera Jasmine is pairing with Prashanth. She is donning the role which Saritha donned in the original version. Similarly Mumaith Khan is donning the role which Jayamalini donned. Prakash Raj is donning the role of police officer which was donned by Jaya Shankar. Similarly Vadivelu is donning the role which Goundamani did in the original version. Prashanth has acted like his father. The shooting of this film took place in the jungles of India, New Zealand, Thailand and East Africa. Prashanth has taken lots of risks to act in this film. One more highlight of this film is that Simbu has sung a song. The shooting of this film is in final stages and is to hit the screens on 15th July.
